TROPHY PLAINS GAME ANIMALS

Sable: Sable bulls are best known for their long, spectacular sweeping horns and the dark color of their coats. The white markings on their face and belly makes for a stark contrast. The Afrikaans name for the Sable – Swartwitpens – means black white belly, describing the color contrast of the coat.

Zebra: Contrary to popular belief, Zebra are more closely related to donkeys than they are to horses. Their prominent stripes provide excellent camouflage in the bushveld, and their keen awareness and wariness make for a fun, but challenging hunting experience.

Blue Wildebeest: The Blue Wildebeest is a member of the antelope species, which roam the open plains, bushveld, and dry woodlands of South Africa. The Blue Wildebeest derives its name from the silvery blue sheen on its hide.

Impala: The Impala is a medium-sized member of the antelope family. Rams can produce lyre-shaped horns up to 90cm in length. When Impala are frightened, the whole herd will start jumping and running in an attempt to confuse their predator.
